Killer Eagle Ray

A woman was killed by an eagle ray that jumped into her

boat, and the woman was stabbed by it's barb.

The freak accident happened just off the coast of the

Florida Keys.

The eagle ray simply jumped out of the water and it's

barb penetrated the woman on some part of her body,

this than caused her to fall back where she then hit her

head.

It is not known which of the two caused her death.

However, some media and those present at the scene

concluded the eagle ray's barb had stabbed her through

the neck.

South African Ella Addison begged to accompany her father on a dive, who runs a shark-diving business.

Against her mother's will, Mark the father allowed

his brave and precocious tyke to join him underwater

amidst the dangerous predators.

"The first time I got in I was scared, but then I fine

ever since," Ella said.

"I think cages spread fear, not understanding," Mark siad.

"She proved us all wrong that at that age it's possible," he said. And, said Mark, Ella's even gotten some life lessons.

Supposedly, barracuda attacks on humans are rare. We'd think

they are even more rare when the victim isn't in the water!

But that is apparently what happened off the coast of Venice, when

a nearly 4 foot barracuda jumped into a boat and bit a 14 year old

girl . Koral Wira needed 51 stitches to close the wound.

"It was like out of Jaws, it was that scary", Dina Parker, Wira 's

mother told the website. "We'll never go out their again. It was the

most terrifying thing I've ever been through".

The sad part is the axolotis are considered endangered in the wild due to pollution. They are native to only 2 lakes in Mexico, one of which no longer exists. Elsewhere, life is no easier for the axoloti populations because non- native fish

have been eating their babies!

Life is hard for these little salamanders. Suprisingly, though, they are hardly "little". An adult axoloti grows to an average of 9-10 inches! That's about the size of an average male foot. Axolotis can heal and generate

limbs. If you want buy one ( and I guess this is an option)

be prepared to care for it for a good 10 years.

Axolotis, also known as Mexican Salamanders and in Japan (Wooper Loopers). Many people think they are fish, but they are actually salamanders.

Unlike normal salamanders, axolotis are pale and have external gills.

They are neotenic, which means that unlike salamanders, they do not

go through metamorphiosis before maturing sexually. This means that they can reproduce in a larvel stage and live entirely underwater. If it must, the axoloti can actually choose to metamorphose into a terrestrial

animal like other amphibians.
